Default 1997 maxum 3000scr

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is having a good and safe weekend. I sold my 2400SCR and just bought a 97 3000SCR, love the boat!

Anyways, I have two main issues with the vessel.

First, the power trim function will only work 1/4 the way up (reading the trim gauge) then when I trim down it will make a weird sound going down. Previous owner states he might of went a few minutes in slightly too shallow water a week or two prior to selling it to me. What could this possibly be?

Second, the fresh water systems onboard only works when the vessel is docked and I'm putting water in the fresh water fill hole. Once I take the water hose out, water starts coming out of the vent hole right underneath the fresh water fill (port side) for a minute or two. After a few minutes water does not work not work. Does not look like there are any leaks since the engine bay doesn't have 30 gallons of water in there. Previous owner states it could be the water filter? But if it was the filter, shouldn't the water not even work at all (when I'm filling it from the dock it works)?

Thanks in advance for anyones help/experience, I appreciate it very much

Have you checked the trim pump to see if the fluid level is correct?

On dock water are you filling the fresh water tank or connected to a threaded water connection which bypasses the onboard freshwater pump?

I will check the pump. Good idea.

On dock, I am filling the fresh water tank. Filling it slow by keeping the water pressure from the hose relatively low.

If you are using water from the tank are you sure you have turned on battery and the fresh water pump that operates off of 12v supply.

If at the dock you are only adding water to the fresh water tank and using the fresh water pump to pressurize the system this is no different than being at sea and using the fresh water system. When you leave the dock are you sure the fresh water tank is full?

Are you certain you’re adding water to the deck plate to fill the tank? Should be a 2.5 inch cap that you would unscrew marked water.

Check to see if you have any loose connections on the input of the pump. My marina breaks the pex connection between the tank and pump to winterize the water system, using the pump to suck in antifreeze. Once or twice they didn’t push the pex connection back on all the way and the pump would pull in air, but it wasn’t loose enough to leak.

Default 1997 scr3000 Boat is leaning front left heavy

When i bought the boat it was in tacoma I had to drive it back to Seattle on the water...in the process the engine shut off.....I didn't know what happened.....then I remembered the lever for the other side gas tank....I turned the lever and I t started up.....

So are my tanks separated?
Maybe I got too much gas on 1 side?

But I really notice it leaning more after I wash the boat I had a small hole on upper front left side but after talking to a fiberglass company they said I would have to had mega mega water to go in that hole for it to lean like it does.....

I searched whole inside of boat and can't find any water or anything and so I don't know what to do......PLEASE HELP
