Good morning Mike, Thank you for all your information. I will be investigating the Heater element problem in the near future. I have been hose testing the hull of my boat 1999 SCR 2700, I find the water coming into the bedroom seems to be coming the stanchion fixings and possibly rub rail too. I have rigged a hose into the ER at the moment to catch the water and keep bedroom dry. I am going to remove stanchion feet one at a time and place some thin jointing underneath before re securing. My question is this: In your experience, do you recollect how the stanchions are secured to the boat. There are 4 cross head screws visible. I was just wondering if they were self tapping with secure nut behind or (hopefully not) single loose nut behind. Appreciate your input when you have time. Kind regards Liam
Hi Mike,
I have a couple, first one is the hot water tank. When I first turned it on for a shower, lots of lovely hot water. Since then it hasnt heated at all....do you think the thermostat is gone? My next question involves water entering the bedroom. I have tried to trace this and it would seem it might be coming in through where the windscreen fits to the gunnels. The water eventually makes it way down to the bilge and along to the ER. I was just wondering if you knew whether this was a common problem? I would also like to know where I could obtain some new lens that fit on the deck lights and internal stair lights. Another problem I have is my dashboard switches. A few of them seem to be melting and they are like tar!! Finally, I seem to have a very slight leak of fuel every so often there appears a slight rainbow effect in the water around the starboard quarter. Could it be leg oil or something? Anyway, I really appreciate you helping me 😊
Kind regards
Liam
