Question what motor do i have

hello to all,
I have a 95,maxum, 2000sr, mercury serial # f298821 (above the starter)HIN #usjb44mub595, its a 8 cyl, but I don't know much more, 305,350 , 2bbl,4 bbl, can anyone tell from this info or direct me in the right direction

MerCruiser Inboard/Outdrive Model Identification Guide - MerCruiser Serial Number


350 MAG Alpha (1987 -1995)
Serial Number Range: B525982 - F600999

It looks like (F298821) falls into this range.

It's easy to determine 4BBL vs. 2 BBL. Remove the spark arrester (metal intake filter) and simply look.

Shrew said 350 MAG Alpha so yes. Being a MAG I would assume it's a 4bbl but as shrew said remove the flame arrester and take a look.

Taking another look at the link shrew provided I see the same serial number range list for the 260 HP 350, this is a 4 bbl engine and typically was connected to a Alpha drive.
