Default Thinking about painting a stripe on my 2400

Local body shop and marina are working on a quote for me. Since I cant get a cool brand new SCR I though we'd freshen up ours a little. Pics of me driving below as is now and a photoshop of the stripe I may do. All of the original gold and teal *yuck* striping have come off and we've replaced it with black and silver. So the proposed stripe and MAXUM plates repainted in silver would go much better with the theme.

Thoughts?

Sorry, didn't see a spot for attachments and the image link wasn't working for me.

As she is now

What I'm considering

Default paint

I don't think i'd use paint about the belt line...I'd probably go with some sort of gelcoat....might be a bit spendy but would be more durable....and it wouldn't add much weight...nice boat by the way.....

Default paint

paint would probably chip over time...gel would be more durable and last the life of the boat....just an idea...
