Default 2004 2500SE - replace throttle trim switch

Does anyone have experience with replacing the trim switch on the throttle handle of a 2500SE (or similar model)?

I’ve ordered the replacement switch (858679T1), and began to follow the wire that exits the throttle control above the starboard cubby at the helm. However, it quickly disappears behind the cubby. I can’t see any way to remove the cubby panel or access the wire.

Has anyone had success with replacing this? How do you access the wiring harness to replace the switch?

Thanks in advance for your help

Is this a Quicksilver control? Did you look for an access panel in the midberth cabin?
