Both boats have 5.7 engines. Carb vs. EFI is not going to dictate whether one is underpowered. Vdrives vs. BIII's won't make one harder to steer over the other. In fact you'll have less prop walk with the BIIIs in reverse. In all honesty, I would with the boat that surveys better for this vintage boat, it's all about condition and maintenance. Both boats are made by the same company. No offense, but so far there are no real logical considerations here.

With all the money you saved you can easily install a after market programmable EFI system and still have plenty of money left over for fuel!
