Default 2004 Maxum 1800 SR instrument panel topper

Hi all-
Just getting into the forum after buying Dad's old 2005 1800 SR. Stoked! The instrument panel top bezel needs a painting, or ideally, a replacement. I'm not having any luck shopping by part number. Anyone have an idea where I can find this replacement? Part Number: 10924--021104

Alternatively, if we were to pursue painting it, what style of paint is recommended.
Cheers,
T

Paint it. OEM parts like that aren't stocked for very long after the model goes out of production. It's an item that rarely breaks or wears out and only applies to a a few hundred production models.

Auto companies manufacture a limited number of cars in massive numbers. Boat manufacturers manufacture a much larger line of models in a given year, and significantly less numbers of any one model.

So Maxum would need to inventory about 15 different dash panels for 20 different model years and likely sell 2-4 a year. The cost of the warehouse makes that a loosing proposition.

The custom fabrication shops are were these issues get sorted out.

Got it, great. Will the plastic, bumper trim also accept paint? Special acrylic paint?

I would suggest trying some starbrite xtreme clean and a magic eraser on the rubrail before attempting to paint the rubber. .

Agree, I would not paint the rub rail as it may not adhere and if you bump anything it will knock the paint off.
