Axius communication error
Does any one have a schematic on the axius system installed in a 2900SE 2008 model. On the CAN V data line to the port engine is not flashing. Has any one have an ideas why this could be so.
Thanks
Found out the CAN V is for he gen set that is not connected.

Philip, first welcome aboard.
I am not fimilar with the axius system but I would think the communication error would be like an ethernet error. The link light for ethernet tells you that the transcievers on either end are communicating. If they are not the most likely cause is a bad mate on a connector, broken wire, transciever issues (bad or no power).
This requires more than a DVM to isolate and will need a marine mechanic with knowlegde and tools with this system.
Good luck and let us know what you find out

Thanks for this. However my system is a GEN 1 and I am unable to find this type of instruction manual on the web as of yet.

This site require me to log on and doing so requires credit card payment or a free membership. When completed a free membership there is a bill. So do not use the link above unless you want to have problems with your credit card.
Do not click on the sop creed site area of the book.
Can some one provide a link to the books that work.

Sorry Philip but I think you are going to have to pay. If you don't trust the previous links (I understand being careful) try buying from your the actual merc manual from your local dealer or an aftermarket book like this.

Else pay a mechanic.

Today finally got the engine running. After checking all the fuses and belled out many connections for power, correct earth and continuity. The merc rep plugged in the computer and reset the TVM, CCM and ECM. This was all as a result of a battery going flat and all the computers (or just one ) went into larlar land.

Philip interesting, did you ask the merc rep if this is a common result of a bad battery? Thanks for providing the feedback for all on the site.
Anyhow glad the problem has been resolved and enjoy your season as us up north are basically done till next spring.

The question of bad battery comes up every time there is a fault in the computers. I think it may be a bad battery in the past however the battery is OK now as the charger fixes the low capacity. But a low battery should not make the computers go into lal lala land.

Low voltage of batteries are a common issue with car computers.
