Default New member. Just bought 1800sr

Good evening from the mostly flooded Pittsburgh area.
No boating for a while and I can't wait to see if the 1992 1800sr I just bought is a whole boat as I think it is, or a potential problem child.
I've owned 8 budget priced boats over the years and have had good luck for the most part.
She's the little 3.0 mercruiser. Heard it run in the driveway with the cups and threw it in gear. That's about all I could do because going to the lake is out of the question. I now understand that the 'better' Bayliner, Maxum, really was built with upgraded materials. I've had Bayliner, 4 Winns, Wellcraft, Chris craft and others. All well used. This boat holds its own against anything as far as quality of most materials.
This particular unit seems to be extremely well kept. 3 owners in 32 years and inside all but a few years. Complete books, records, even bill of sale.
She was $13,000 boat and trailer new in 92'. I just paid $3800 which may be on the strong side but condition is everything. If she is whole, it should be cheap fun.
Any knowledgeable comments about this boat would be appreciated.
I can't wait to get it launched!
Rob

Well, she runs, steers and rides better than I had hoped! Will do the appropriate maintenance including an alternator belt.
Does anyone know which belt it takes?

The engine serial number should be on the top of the flame arrestor, with it you can look up parts at Mercruiser parts .com
