If fuel injected its 260 HP if carb 220 HP.

Does it really matter? The engine is the engine you have until it's time to repower.

Lied is probably extreme. Tough to prove he knew differently and chose to misrepresent it.

Carb is 220HP. The engine serial number will determine YoM. Call mercruiser and they will do a serial number lookup to narrow it down. Model year engine sold in a later calendar year is not unheard of. (e.g. 2001 engine in a 2003 model vessel, for example).

I should be on the plastic engine cowl if still there else on side of block near flywheel. In my opinion engine hours are more telling then engine year but then again how well it was cared for is the number one teller for condition.

Motor # should be on front of engine on the right side looking from flywheel just in front of the head, flat boss should find # there!
Might be hard to read as it is stamped in then painted!

Mercruisers or Quicksilvers 25W40 for the engine. High performance lube for the drive.

Hi guys...
I had a 21 pitch prop 14.25
Wasn't getting any take off too much... So I got a 19/pitch 14.25.
Great take off, getting 39 mph.
Do I have the right prop?
And is it my top top speed?
Or should I be getting more speed?
I seen post that say I should be getting over 40 mph...
I do trim once planed..
Wondering if I should get another prop... Not sure
Any ideas would be great.
