Trim tab pump

My trim tab pump needs fluid/oil and before I break anything how do you get the cover off to add oil? Do I just keep pulling up on it? Also the manual says to use any ATF, I guess that's auto transmission fluid, anyone have a recommendation?

What trim tab system do you have, boat leveler or Bennett?
