Sterndrive Water Pickup

I just installed a used Bravo3 connected a connected the Water Ear Muffs.
When I turned the water hose on, I’m getting nothing going into motor.
But, before I installed the Sterndrive, I connected the garden hose to the water inlet in the gimbal, and everything worked fine.
Should I start taking apart the bottom half of the Sterndrive to see what’s going on, or is there something else I should do first?

Remove the drive and see if when using the muffs water comes out the top passage that mates to the bellhousing. But you are probably correct the blockage is most likely in the lower housing.
