Default Bow Window catch or prop rod 1800SR

I hit a large wave with my bow window open and it snapped the window catch / prop rod. Any idea where to get something like this? West marine and my local marine shops have no idea where to get it. Is this a dealer only item? Are there alternatives that other boats use to catch their swinging bow window?
Thanks,
Josh

Check Bomar, which is more than likely who made your hatch. I don't suggest running with ANY hatch open, but I think you've figured that out by now.

Good luck.

Here are links to specific hatch spare parts. They include pics, so you may be able to find the piece that looks like yours. I was able to identify mine.

Josh,

I'm guessing it might be a dealer item only. List the year and model of your boat and then go here http://maxumcustomercare.com/ and look for the parts manual, find the part number, and order it.

I might have found an alternative. I was at the local Tahoe boats showroom. The Tahoe boats use two rubber stoppers that screw into the upper and lower window frame. This appears to be a decent design. I have the dealer looking into the parts for me.

Josh -

I am an owner of an 1800SR also and replaced that part some years ago. I ride with the hatch open almost all the time unless it is extremely rough. If you decide to go with factory replacement, that part is available. I'll have to check my log book for the pn and get back to ya. The option you stated should work as well. Good times boatin!
