Default Timing sticker missing off harmonic balancer

I tried to check the timing on my port side 2002 4.3 liter engine and found that the timing sticker on the harmonic balancer was gone. I called Mercury Marine and GM, neither was any help. Outside of replacing my perfectly good harmonic balancer, is there a way to just get the sticker?...

Not too familiar with the 4.3 but what sticker? The balancer has a notch in it (a little white out works great in there) and there should be a plate mounted to the timing chain cover for the degrees. I'm a V8 guy though, so like I said.... just reaching.. trying to help.

I have to agree with oneradride, the balancer should have grooves in the surface. Performance parts suppliers also sell timing tape.

Yes, the answer is purchasing timing tape or a timing decal. When I first called Mercury surprisingly they had no remedy. I called again, spoke to a different rep and he gave me a part number for a timing decal. Cost? $1! Problem solved...

The Merc timing decal for my 2002 4.3 L engine is part #864250. Can be picked up at any Mercury distributor for $1. I launched last week, timing is good and everything is running well. It's good to be back in the water!....
