She works and no water in the manifold, machined the surfaces between the risers and manifolds and got quicksilver gaskets, stay away from the Chinese knockoffs!

WOT 42 MPH at 4900 RPM or so my gage says.
24 knots achieved at 3400 RPM.
(previous cruise speed of 22.5 knots was 3600RPM)
don't know fuel consumption yet.

Default doesn't end ...

Took her out for another run, 3 adults and half a tank of gas, WOT hit 39mph and 5100rpm.

Then, back at dock, notice oil pooling on the intake manifold next to the distributor, one engine worse than the other, spilling into the bilge. This is what started all this! Two different opinions on what's causing this:

1. Distributers have brass bushings that have worn out (they're off my old engines and were not leaking, just the pan was).
2. either the gasket for the distributor or gasket on the brand new intake manifolds.

Just never ends.

That sucks, oil leaks can be troublesome as you know.

They look nice and clean. That will confuse some mechanics, Volvo engines and Mercruiser drives.

Default Starboard side still puking oil

Looks like the problem all along are these Chinese intakes my mech went cheep on. the starboard intake doesn't sit all the way down on the block, maybe a millimeter or two out. Got an Edelbrock replacement going on today. Don't buy parts from China!

Cheap stuff either has poor quality looks or performance in most cases.

Maybe he thought he was saving you money or reacted from you reacting to the cost of the project, hard to say.

Default Started Oct.26, finished April 10th.

Port leak finally repaired by replacing the cheap intake with a Volvo intake. WOT@ 5100RPM for almost 1 minute last evening (37knts!), the attached image was taken after tie up. Would not do this over again unless I was in a bigger market. Greater Nanaimo is just over 100,000 and there's nowhere near enough marine knowhow for this size boating community.
