Lightbulb New Maxum Owners

Hi all, I have been reading member posts for weeks. My husband and I just bought a used 1994 Maxum boat, and new to the world of boat owning. We both grew up on the lake here in SC, but were kids and learning everything from scratch. We are in the middle of restoring the ole' beauty but are having a hard time with parts.

So my question for all the guru's, cushions and seating....do the Maxum boats in 94, use a lot of the same seating etc as Bayliner? That's what I seem to get out of what I have read...also what are some good sights to find aftermarket/used seating, liners, & parts? I would be grateful for any help, this is really frustrating for a newbie like me!!!

Thanks all! J

First welcome to the site J. As I say to all the newcomers here there are a lot of great people that will help you with your questions that you might have.

What do you want to accomplish here? Something that looks like all the other Maxums or one of a kind? A local canvas shop should be able to do anything that you want. Overton's has a good selection of seats to pick from if you want to go that route.

So in the long run it is up to you on which road you go down. All of maxum parts were farmed out so once you find the manufacturer you can come pretty close to the original.

Good luck and please let us know what you do ...send those before and after pictures!

Roger

J welcome

Yes bayliner part for some stuff work but for exact fitting seat a marine canvas shop is best. Aftermarket back to back and buckets work but for jump seat on either side of the engine custom fabrication is best.

Are you only in need of cosmetics; seats, covers, .... Or do you need mechanic info as well?

Maxum Customer Care

I found this site with some parts but they do look to be limited. Hope it helps some.
