Default 2100sc Trailering

A quick update here in reference to towing. My 2001 Manual transmission Pathfinder has less than the "Dealer quoted" 5000lb towing capacity, so I was very anxious about towing the 2100SC from Washington DC to Ocean City Maryland. This is about a 3 hour trip.

Over the 4th of July, I made the trip with no problems to report. I did invest in a 40 dollar device that works using infrared to measure tempratures. After a 90 minute segment, I would stop and check the temps on the tires and hubs. The hubs got to 119 degrees F and the tires up to 130 degrees at one point, but no higher. All in all it was a very successful trip.

Thanks for the update- We're lucky and only have to tow ours twice a year, but it's over a 6000' pass. The Durango gets a work out then!

Default Tires

The temp gauge is called a Bluepoint RTEMPB4 and it is available from Snap-on.com for about 40 bucks. Incidentally, I found that the tire pressures on all four wheels was less than Manf. recommended 50lbs. I have since pumped them up to 45lbs cold sitting in the lot. This will no doubt make a temprature differance next trip I take.
