Repower 2000 2800scr with a Volvo

I need to repower my 2000 2800scr .My 7.4l engine kicked the bucket. Is there any major mods needed for a Volvo ocean series sterndrive. Fiber glass ,mounts etc....

I just repowered my 1997 2800 SCR with a Mercruiser 496 Mag. It has 375 HP as compared to the original 300 HP that the 454 had. I looked at Volvo and even Yanmar because I was even considering going to Diesal. If you go with Mercruiser, you can keep the existing transom assembly and outdrive and save a ton of cash. If you decide to go with Volvo you will need to replace the transom assembly, outdrive and engine.
