Default 1999 SCA 4100 enging warning alarm

my port engine warning lamp and alarm went off while on our first day out with the boat, I checked the oil pressure and temp gauge before I shut the engine off and nothing showed as out of normal range. I returned on other engine and when I turned the engine on again all was ok. does the alarm replay pick up whats on my gauges or other things ?
I also noticed my pre heat indicator was on and stayed on during the outing.

Not sure of your engines, but I also have a 1999 4100 SCA which is powered by twin Cummins 6BTA 5.9 M3 330HP diesels. On those engines the oil gauge comes off one sensor/sender, the alarm off another sensor/sender. Not sure about the pre-heat question, but I'd recommend - if you're running Cummins engines - to visit Seaboard Marine's website and forums. Good people, non judgmental answers to questions. A vast library of information.

thanks, I am running cummins 370 turbo. I was looking at he engine diagram and saw two sensors, as my oil gauge has always been a bit flakey by jumping around once in a while and I have swapped gauges and it still happens so I assumed it was one of those sensors. Maybe its the sensor that goes to the gauge that is acting up. appreciate your help, many thanks. Cheers From Canada.

the issue is my Port engine impeller blew apart, concerning the temp gauge didn't reflect high temp before I shut her down. I was only able to find one piece of the impeller, I was advised that I should have her back flushed in hopes to get the remainder out. would this be accurate ?

Yes, you want to get as much of the impeller out as possible. Again, the folks at Seaboard Marine can give you more info.
