Default Lewmar Help

Please Help. 2002 2700 SCR with a lewmar windless. The windless spins but doesn't seem to catch the rope. I know the rope is stiff and dirty. Would that affect it? Should I replace the rope? if yes, how do I feed the rope/chain in? Are there any maintenance tips (greese ect) I should do?

Thanks!

I just installed a lewmar 1000 and the rope(rode) should be the right size 1/2" is to small and it will not catch well.the rope should not be stiff or it can't wrap in the gypsy and grab. The rope/ chain feed in on power up you don't have to hand feed.Check lewmar for maintenance and videos also youtube you can see all about lewmar

assuming you have the right sized rope...or rode as it's properly called....there should be a locking wrench you insert into the top of the drive drum to tighten down the clutch.....it's a star shaped wrench that fits in the star shaped slot......
check that for tightness...
