Fourth of July weekend - Puget Sound

I thought I would post a few pictures for our most recent outing here in the Pacific Northwest.

We took a few extra days off from work prior to, and after the holiday weekend to float a few of our favorite spots. With the Fourth of July on a Sunday this year, we opted to leave on Thursday to beat the crowds. With a slight departure delay due to a railroad bridge being stuck closed not far from our Marina, we left our home port to dodge thousands of freshly laid crab pots and thread through hundreds of other boaters.

After a spirited two hour run, we stopped at Spencers Spit on the East side of Lopez island.
