That selector switch is to set the tach for 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines. Thought yours was set wrong. I would think a 3 blade 15 1/2 x 17 or 19 would be a better choice for all around performance....

Welcome aboard

Get a photo tach from an auto store to verify your tachs reading. Not uncommon for these to be off. Try using Quicksilvers prop calculator to see what it recommends.
