Who said anything about a DC Amp probe?

I said DC voltmeter to see if power was getting to the fixture not the lamp socket.

While you can measure current I think you want to measure voltage for 12V at the light fixture.

Reversing the wires on a LED most likely will not...

Reversing the wires on a LED most likely will not blow a fuse, just try reversing the two wires to see if it works. You can also use a volt meter and see if 12V is present at the light fixture.
