What type of flooring are you installing?

Default fake teak look

Got a couple rolls of fake teak foam flooring. Tricky cut as the galley goes wider then smaller. Got 2 because I fully anticipate screwing up.

Default nervously,

So am I. Trying to figure out how best to template and cut right now before I go and possibly make a mess of it this afternoon.

Use cardboard or craft paper to make the template.

Thanks Mike, doing that today for the odd cuts on the sides and end down to mid-cabin.

Default i don't know, maybe not

Thankfully this stuff is fairly cheap. In person it looks and feels better. Begining to think carpet might be better. Old carpet and not finished replacement foam flooring pics.

Maybe carpet for the inside of the cabin and the EVA foam for outside? I used this foam in my previous boat for outside flooring. Kept up pretty good for the price. I ordered it straight from china. For templating I used the old carpet and placed it over the Eva foam.

Default thought it would look good

For the price, I thought EVA Foam would be worth a shot to see if its a good replacement for the carpet that would never get clean and always got really dirty, really fast. I thought it was original carpet until I pulled it up. The strip I laid down, and if the rest were done right, it would look good, but feels super hard to walk on.

Default still waiting

Really tempted to keep doing this myself cause it takes so long to get anyone to do anything around my part of the world. Especially softworks like: canvass, carpets, upholstery, vinyl work. Extreme shortage for this skilled labour in such a large boating market.

Today I started making new stairs. Instead of using 'marine-grade' plywood, I used 'regular' plywood. I assume that after covering it with epoxy varnish, the result will be good.

Also a new storage compartment is available.
