I plan on pulling what ever is blocking the vent, as I am sure there is not enough air flow for the motor when it is running hard.

I am wondering if they are supposed to have louvre covers, or vent or just a screen.
Just bought boat 2 months ago, manual tells me nothing.

My boat runs great with a little gas and 2 people.

Throw in 6 people and a tank of gas and when the boat comes off plane, it is unable to get back above 30000 RPM again until it cools down.
