No problem. I am a new boater too, don't know that I am brave enough to go out in the dark yet though. Make sure you have a functional depth finder too, it can be helpful so you don't run aground....

Planning to go out on the fourth to try to catch some fireworks? Definitely a concern of mine as well. All boats should have their port/starboard and stern lights which should be visible from 1-2...
