Most have a switch directly on the generator, up by the panel somewhere. Most (all that i've seen) have another remote starter on the AC/DC panel.

No carb on a diesel. At least not on my Diesel yanmar or my Kohler diesel generator. There are injectors, and water and algae can accumulate is not treated.
