They put a link that goes to a porn site, a site that installs parasites/virus'/etc on your computer, browser hijack scripts... that kind of stuff. A member views their profile and clicks on the url...

Be sure to keep an eye on users who sign up just to get a URL in there signature. I am now checking all new users for this kind of link spam in my forum.
