should not need a key to keep it running, you pull the lanyard and it pull the switch down and kills the engine when your body goes ass over tall over the side.

lots of lanyard kits out there, more of a dead man switch.

if you read your maual not a good idea to kill your engine with the drive engaged.

most guys don't use them, when your movin under 26...
