Started Oct.26, finished April 10th.

Port leak finally repaired by replacing the cheap intake with a Volvo intake. WOT@ 5100RPM for almost 1 minute last evening (37knts!), the attached image was taken after tie up. Would not do this...

Starboard side still puking oil

Looks like the problem all along are these Chinese intakes my mech went cheep on. the starboard intake doesn't sit all the way down on the block, maybe a millimeter or two out. Got an Edelbrock...

Dont know if the oil leak via distributer is fixed yet, mechanic has had family crisis, looks fixed. getting new 5.7 GL decal. yes I put the flag stickers on, places she's been.

Took her out for another run, 3 adults and half a tank of gas, WOT hit 39mph and 5100rpm.

Then, back at dock, notice oil pooling on the intake manifold next to the distributor, one engine worse...

She works and no water in the manifold, machined the surfaces between the risers and manifolds and got quicksilver gaskets, stay away from the Chinese knockoffs!

WOT 42 MPH at 4900 RPM or so my...

everything's back together and no water in the manifolds anymore. Sea trial in a couple hours. fingers and toes crossed!

Finally get my less than 2yr old manifolds and risers back on today. Pressure tested them at a machine shop and they are not the reason I got water in my new engines. Going to bolt it all up again,...

Water came from exhaust ports

Small amounts of water came out of each exhaust manifold port. We set it up so these should be dry. Sending my almost new manifolds and rises out to be machined true and will try bolting it up...

Depending on when I finally get her back in the water, should still be under cad $20k and I'm almost done restoring the cabin mostly with my labour. When done, yes I should trouble free for a while.

Y Pipe corrosion

Getting ready to install the (new to me) fresh water transom assemblies yesterday and discovered one of the exhaust Y-pipes was almost ready to go/start leaking. There's another $400.

I'll continue as planned and replace them. They're Bravo2s. Already did the seacock thing last year when the newer engine was running at 200f temps at cruise. Thanks again Shew, it worked.
