Repower 2000 2800scr with a Volvo

I need to repower my 2000 2800scr .My 7.4l engine kicked the bucket. Is there any major mods needed for a Volvo ocean series sterndrive. Fiber glass ,mounts etc....

So a 6.2 is a small block. You must have a lot more space to move around. Might have room for a gennie if I go with a 6.2.

While replacing the engine should I replace the outdrive also. Same age....

Time to repower with one of these bad boys. :lol:

350 Mag (5.7L) 300HP

377 MAG (6.2L) 320HP

496 MAG (8.1L) 375HP...

I'm not a mechanic ,but I don't think there is a carb on the engine . MPI
One other detail I forgot to mention, the last fill up the fuel came out the vent . So I just pulled the vent tube off the...

Found a foot of water in my 2000 2800scr a week ago .Salty .Pumped it out watched it for a week no new water. Started the engine no problem . 10 mins later the engine slowly died.
Started two more...

I receive my 2000 2800 scr from the usa . I one question I didnt ask is how to operate the mercerator pump. I see 2 switches under the steering wheel with a warning label on it that does nothing....
