All the pin stripes, cleats and decals are removed and getting ready to start sanding. Will use wet/dry 600, 1200 and 2000 to start. Started the expanding pour foam on the very bottom of the boat....

Fiberglass question
How much of the gelcoat needs to be removed (grinded) before tabbing in the stringers and decking? Is it ok to just clean real well with acetone and apply fiberglass and resin over the old gelcoat?
