The flexable exhaust tube going thru the lower unit is rotted in half. Can I test drive the boat with tube broken and not hurt it?

It is a crack in the block behind the intake/exhaust manifold. I removed the manifold and am trying to jb weld the crack. Seems io be just the outside theres no water in the oil as of yet.

Hi Y'all, I've got a 1990 maxum. It has a mercrusier 3.0, 4-cyl engine that I'd like to tune up before I start it. I'll change the oil and plugs. Should I do something to the fuel system?
