Well checked the boat out its not the steering rams,it was the hose to the oil cooler for power steering fluid,i also had a leak at the water intake hose,
so it may be worth checking those hose...

If i was you i would also invest $300 in the mercuiser scan tool from www.rinda.com (https://www.rinda.com)
you can then do your own diagnostics and well worth the money it will pay for itself over...

clint your switches are correct and the tabs do only go down about 2/3 rds way,
Play about with them when you are on the plane and it will get you used to what does what,

Welcome i have a 1999 2800scr which is the same boat with a differant interior trim,if you look under year 2002 you will find the owners manual 2955mu i believe

Follow the fuel line from the tank it should be the first thing you come to looks like an oil filter.

If youve run low on fuel i would change the water seperator/filter as you may have pulled some **** up
especially s you say it ran better with a full tank

I,m still running on the original 1999 bravo 3 out drive with the 6.2mpi if your out drive is good why change it,its your decision, there is quite a lot of space in my engine bay as the 2800scr was...
