The steering on my Bravo-3 is pretty tight at low engine speeds also, but this is the first boat I've had with power steering. I figured the low RPM at idle is not driving the power steering pump...

My 2nd switch in the 2400SE turns on a pump for the drain. Assume it's because the drain is below the output port on the side.

I have almost the same boat. Mine's an 06 but I doubt they made any real changes from 05. This will be our 3rd summer with it.
We love it! We've used it more on Lake Washington than Puget...

My tach does the same thing, just starts floating to a higher RPM. Sometimes I can tap it and it will fall back to the correct reading. Mine's on a 5.0 MPI but sure sounds like the same issue.

I have a 2006 2400 SE with the same back seat I think. There were these plastic "Z" clips that held the seat down. They've both broken so if anybody puts their weight on the front of the seat...

So the pump out station at the marina has one of those general purpose rubber hose ends that you have to push into the waste port and that force is supposed to form a seal as you then open the valve...
