Default what kind of mileage should I expect

Anyone driving a 3000 with carburated twin 5.0 L 220's know what the best speed (most economical) is for these boats, or where I can get the info. I soon plan on taking my 1st weekend trip and would like to know what the range/cost will be.

Default Re: what kind of mileage should I expect

There are several factors that will influance the fuel consumption of your boat. The same boat, owned by different people will get slightly different GPH averages. A lot of this is boat handling, bottom paint, onboard weight, prop type, fuel type, and always current conditions including tide and current.

If you are familiar with calculating your fuel consumption it is best to do so on your own. Most people make a educated quess based on articles read and the factory specs. This will get you close, but does not help you fine tune your boat handling skills for optimal fuel efficency.

You can also install fuel flow meters on each engines fuel line. A bit pricey but works great.

If you need assistance let me know, I can walk you through the process. Its time consuming but not hard at all.
