Default Vee berth table storage

Hi
We were a little disappointed that the vee berth table did not have it's own storage spot when not in use. So I noticed other manufacturers had a spot on a flat wall with holders to accommodate the table. Our boat had no flat wall big enough to fit the table so here is what I did.

WoW! How did you do that? Looks great.

My main question is, where do you store the wood and pads for the V-berth when you are using the table? That one is always a pain for me....

Thanks

Hi
I removed the little corner panel and unstapled the material to expose the wood underneath, then I layed the table down and traced the profile onto the wood. Then cut it out with a jig saw and rewrapped the material and stapled with stainless staples.
I used a strap with a buckel to hold it there.
I store the panel under the starboard bench and the filler cushions store as part of the seat backs.
Cheers
Paul

Great plan, sounds like your boat is quite a bit different than mine...

Anyone try this on a 2700 SCR? Thanks

I was able to put the table there because we do not have the A/C heat unit on our boat. The cavity in the wall would house the duct work and vents if we did and the table would still be a problem.

some people put some straps in the batcave overhead...they tie the planks to that and then wedge the cushions in the batcave until needed...

I'll have to take a few pic's of my mods in the batcave....I did post about the window there..that was a great add on!!..

Yeah, we do have the AC/heat unit, so the mod will not be possible.

I like the idea of hanging the pads in the bat cave, the boards are another story. I have been thinking of trying to mount the boards in the engine compartment on top of the water tank... any thoughts?

As far as the bat cave, it seems to me a very easy way to hang the pads would be to have some eye-bolts and just use bungee cords. But I am terribly afraid to drill/tap into anything... how do you know where it is safe to tap a screw into and where it is not? Can you even tap in a screw, or does it have to be a bolt with a nut/washer on the other side?

I love your window mod, but that is far beyond my fear-factor to cut into the hull like that!!!

Thanks
