Default Trying 4 blade propeller

I have 2000 2400 SCR 5.0L Alpha 1 Gen II stern with extended swim platform installed from swimplatforms.com. Just ordered 4 blade 15X16 prop replacing the 3 blade 15X17 prop that originally comes with this boat. Can't wait to try what difference this 4 blade prop will make. Any suggestion on prop or experience you have after replacing the prop on this kind of boat?

I had a 1994 2400 SCR like yours and I went with a 14 1/2 X 17 four blade and it seemed to be just perfect for that boat.

Ken, do you also have a swimplatform, how much load do you have most of the time?

Yes I have a swim platform. Most of the time I run with a full fuel tank and three or four people

Thanks for responding, I'm trying to make a good comparison, but I may not be able to try my new 4 blade 15X16 prop until next spring, we have a freeze forecast and plan on winterizing my boat tomorrow, I don't want to take a chance. I will share my experience with the new prop and hope it will help others with the same boat.

Got a chance to take my 2400 SCR for the spin today to test my new 4 blade 15X16 prop. I'm really happy with the result, on my old prop 3 blade 15X17 I get only max 24 MPH (GPS) on 3500 RPM. With this 4 blade 15X16 I get 26 MPH (GPS) on the same RPM and it can get the boat on plane quicker.
