Default Trim tab replacement

Hi all,

The starboard trim tab on my 2500SE ripped off (just the tab, hydraulic cylinder still there though I’m unsure of the condition until I can get the boat out of the water). Does anyone happen to know the replacement part or where I can get it?

You need to know what brand was used either Boatleveler or Bennett then measure the tab to know the size. It varied over the years.

Excellent. Thanks mmwjr!

They are boatleveler. I guess I’ll have to get out the snorkel and go measure!

Did it rip at the hinge, or did the hinge/mount rip out of the transom?

I’m pretty sure the mount ripped out at the transom. Remains to be seen if the screws stripped or broke, no neither one is an appealing fix...

You might want to haul the boat. If the screws ripped out, you're going to get water ingressing into the plywood core of the transom. You will need to haul the boat, let it dry out, fix and seal the screw holes.

You'll probably need to drill out the screw holes, then fill with epoxy or marine tex. Then mount a new trim tab.
