Default Tow tube

I was wondering if anyone uses the stern cleats to tow tubers. I have a 1998 3000scr. Thanks for any feedback.

I connect a tow harness to the stern eyes on the transom when I tow tubers behind my 1997 2700SCR.

If you make a bridle that that has loops so that both port and starboard cleats are used to equal the load out. I have done that before. Sometime the transom connection eyes are just to low in the water to work for skiing or tubing.

I would have a rope float of some kind a couple feet out from your transom to keep the line out of the props.

Thank you. The transom connections are too low to connect a bridle to without getting in the water and swimming around the drives which is why I was wondering about the cleats.

Check Bart's website they might have a bridle all made up for you that will have a pulley to attach your tubing line too.

I bet that's a fun ride behind your 3000. I have a 01 3000 with grandchildren getting of tubing age soon. You will have to take some pictures for us.

The Padeyes have backing plates, while the cleats have washers. If the padeyes are too low, I'd consider either installing a set which are higher up, or installing a tow ring with a large backing plate. The boat planes better and its better for the skier/tuber if the line is higher on the boat anyway.
