Default Tombigbee waterway

Has anyone in the forum traveled on the Tombigbee Waterway? I was wondering about the barge trafic and the locks? This looks like a fun trip from Alabama through Central Mississippi and into Tennessee.

I did it a few years ago. We went from Cincinatti, OH down to Mobile, AL, following the Ohio, TenTom, etc.. Barge traffic was virtually non-existent on that portion. It is a great trip. The locks are no problem - very easy to do. There are plenty of marinas along the way to overnight at. Just make sure you bring enough beer. Lots of dry counties in Mississippi.

Thanks for the info Ticamo, I have sent for some charts at tenn-tom.org and will be able to find the fuel stops for day tripping. It looks like the spring would be a fun trip when the dogwood trees are in bloom. I have been teaching my wife how to drive so I can enjoy the beer
