Default Tilt&trim gauge stoped working. Help needed

I got a 1900xr with 150 merc ob from 1997. Everything works great exept the trim indicator on the dash that shows only "up".. Any ideas of why? Fuse? Where do I start?

on the side of the drive near the middle of the gimble ring pivot pin on either side is a puck shaped looking device screwed into the side of the ring...that is your angle sensor...usually those go bad....check the connections on the back of the gauge for corrosion.....clean off and add some dielectric grease to it to prevent further corrosion..
if the puck is bad...then a tech should replace it...

Mag,

You mentioned that your boat has a 150 HP "ob". For clarification, is the engine an outboard or is it a stern drive?
