Default small propone tanks

Has anyone tried using the smaller propane tanks for their barbeques? I do not mean the disposal tanks but the 5 lbs. size I beleive they are? And if so, what and where is a safe place to store them on a 2700 Maxum? Thanks for input.

We use a 5lb and keep it stored under the engine cover/sun pad- make sure you use a plug when not using it.
Never had a problem but if you can find the room I would just buy a 20lb bottle. I have to fill the 5lb 2 or 3 times a season. We use it for the grill and a propane lantern, still alot cheaper then the disposable ones.

Default gas tank

if you look to either stbd or port in the engine bay...you can store bottles there outboard of the engine...put a tupperware or plastic box using either sticky tape (the 2 inch wide stuff) or drill a couple holes in it and attach it to the decking there....then put your bottles there until you need them....hopefully the flip up covers will work and you can close the lids on the box....but that's an idea....
