shelving under forward berth?

New to me 3000SCR is the amazing amount of storage these boats have however the storage compartment below the forward berth is puzzeling. There 2 shelf's that really don't accommodate anything except something small. What are owners using this space for ? Thanks in advance

A reverse-cycle AC or heat/AC unit is usually underneath the forward berth. There should be a grill for an large air return right on the bulkhead.

Yes that's very true but I was referring to the 2 shelves with button straps unless these were installed by one of the former owners? Thanks
