replacement search light
In need of a replacement search light for my 1999 Maxum 2400 SCR. The wires are in place, toggle and switch are in the cockpit. Any recommendations, without breaking the bank, are appreciated.

The search light was most likely added by the PO. What manufacturer is the existing one? I would look to see if they have a similar model.

Does the switch or joystick have any markings as to the manufacturer? Options are wide open and I guess you’re looking for a recommendation which I can’t give since I don’t have a search light on my boat.

Definitely not a standard feature but may have been an option.

That is not a factory install.
1) SS screws rather than black
2) pan heads are too large and installed too close to the sides, and overhanging the mounting plate.
(You can see the mounting plate for the discharge switches in comparison which was a factory installation for comparison).

Hello All, I have the Jabsco linked above on my 4100 SCB. Don't know if factory or aftermarket. I was hoping for a reason to replace it with LED but ended up with a new bulb instead. looks like it runs very hot with that halogen bulb so I use mine for short periods only.

A spot light isn't a headlight. It should only be run for a few seconds at a time anyway. I've come across googins using their spotlight like a headlight and have wished I had a torpedo installed. We had a guy a few years ago navigating through an anchorage with his spot light. Long periods of beaming boats directly with a 100K candle watts of intrusion.
Sometimes people sitting in the back of their boat at 11:00 at night aren't just sitting there....or clothed. (Ask me why I'm so annoyed with spotlights sometime over a few beers  LOL!!!).
Here's another suggestion. It's fine to aim a powerful light at a marker. IF it's a boat, aim at the water beside the boat. The reflection will illuminate your target without destroying the other captains night vision.
