Default Removing plastic letters

Has anyone removed the plastic letters from the side of there boat?
1/ What did you use to loosen them.
2/ I want to try and save them.
Any and all help and info welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I sprayed mine down with GOOF OFF then used a auto body filler spreader to pry them off. followed by much more GOOF OFF to remove the rest of the adhesive.

If I recall one or two broke in the process but I was already missing one and another was missing a piece when I bought the boat.

I used a 1" Putty knife. You can use a 3M pinstripe removal wheel to remove the adhesive residue. I've used a razor blade, then cleaned the space with rubbing compound.

I also broke a few trying to remove them. There are no longer replacements in stock. Your' best bet is to go with a vinyl replacement.

Thanks!
I have all the letters complete on both sides.
Just don't like the looks of them and thought that if I could remove them in one piece, don' know if I will refinish them and put them back on or just get rid of them.
