Removing glued switches
Hello
Trying to remove foot switch which has been glued on to the boat. This was done by the previous owner, so no idea what was used. Foot switch is for the anchor. Removed all screws and tried with all sharp objects but no luck. Saw online a product called marine formula by debond, but this is not available in UK.
Any suggestions please.

Try spraying with debond to soften the adhesive.

Debond is not available in United Kingdom. Checked everywhere, online and in stores, ebay, Amazon etc

I have and tried it on decals but I guess it's not strong enough.

Try some acetone.

I suspect they might have used 3m 5200, which is 'permanent', though I have successfully removed it with patience. Use heat, a razor blade and a 2" putty knife.
score underneath with the razor, then heat, then work the putty knife in and around. you're going to make fractions of a mm progress at a time. It will take patience and time. Muscle it too hard or too fast and you might remove gelcoat.

Just ordered debond marine formula from USA. Should receive it in about 10 days
