I purchased a 2006 Maximum SR3 1900 Fibreglass Boat 4.3 Mer cruiser stern drive it was winterized fall of 2024 and not been used at all the servicing done was tune up, oil change, oil filter, fuel filter etc. I have not started the motor because it's winterized. My question it's the end of season do I flush the engine and re winterize it again or just leave it till next summer if I leave it that's 2 years. I would appreciate some advice or recommendations should it be left alone or do the winterizing process again. Thanks in advance.
If it has not been started since last winterized there is no reason to rewinterize it. When you use it next I would change all fluids. Is the gas ethanol free? If not you may need to pump it out next year and dispose of it. Either way I would add stabilizer to it.
Im not going to winterize it again I will pull the plugs and add fogging oil to each cylinder and possibly pull a water hose off insuring it has antifreeze and do a complete service in the spring since we get temperatures below -35 here. I was just thinking if the original owner did the job or hired someone no way to know but the boat has been well looked after. Thanks for the feedback on my post.
