Standard (lefthand) rotation.

Engine rotation would be counterclockwise (left as viewed from the back/flywheel.
Standard prop direction (from the back) is clockwise.

Technically, it would depend on the outdrive. In the case of a Bravo III, it would be BOTH. LOL!!!!

For some reason, I thought that inboard and Vdrive Merc's are RH and Sterndrives were LH. I also seem to recall the standard outdrives being LH as well, with the 'counter-rotating drives being RH. I also thought that you handled the counter-rotation in the outdrive on a sterndrive, not a counter-rotating engine.

I don't think it matters on a single whether you have a RH or LH as long as the prop matches the rotation. Which is standard? I'm not 100%.

So much for what I know:

Rotation. Propellers come in both right and left-hand rotation. Standard rotation for both outboards and sterndrives is right-hand: the prop spins clockwise when in forward gear. Left-hand props spin counter clockwise. ... The left-hand rotation prop is on the port side and the right-hand rotation is on the starboard side.

+1 On what Mike said, right hand rotation ( clockwise).
My 2400SCR 5.7 A1G2 is right hand rotation.
