got off the phone a bit ago...Betsy told me my boat was on the sling as we were speaking....the blow boater hit the exact same rock I did and they managed to get it on some stands yesterday afternoon....

then my boat will go into the water today and they are starting to test it and will test drive the boat today and make any adjustments...

tomorrow morning Jeff will meet up at my house and we'll get underway for the anacortes ferry's first sailing (I hope)....

once on the island we'll head over to the marina and start our process of seatrails and acceptance...once I'm happy...I'll sign the doc.s and call the bank to send the yard a check for x# of dollars...whatever that is going to end up....

so...if all goes to plan...we should be home by the late afternoon from orcas island...

and I guess I predicted it to the day....2 mos to repair the boat...

it's been a long hard slog being the idiot driver that ran into those rocks...but a huge learning experience.....I HIGHLY don't recommend it to anyone.....

so...wish us luck.

Two boats in as many months. It sounds like it's time to urge the USCG to place an aid to navigation in that area. Obstructions above the water 100% of the time are one thing, however one that is not visible with the naked eye, or one that is only visible some of the time (i.e. low tide only) really needs a marker of some kind IMHO.
